Travel: Clermont FL to Wauchula FL (85mi)

Headed just a little south of Orlando to our favorite Florida RV resort - Peace River RV Resort.  We've done this stretch of road a bunch of times over the past two years so we forget to take pictures along the way. 

Today's travel was overcast and grey; wet weather is on the way.

Fantasy of Flight started as a private collection and now has grown to a major attraction.  Recently highlighted on HGTV. (That's Santa siting astride the plane.)

Heavy Rains

We are headed back to Peace River RV Resort next week but after this week's heavy rains, much of that park is flooded.  I didn't think quick enough to keep all of the pictures sent to us but here are a few.  The entire back area was under water at one point; these pics are after the water had already started to recede.  Peace Lake?

Sights around the Site

Orlando RV Resort is located inside a nature preserve so one is not to disturb the wildlife.

Where the turtle was headed (look close).  The preserve puts these boxes around the holes so people don't fall in.

Travel: Clermont, FL to Clermont, FL (21 mi)

We found out that our originally planned Resort (Orlando RV Resort) had some spots open up so we did a quick short move.

RV Show, Tampa

Spent the day wandering the biggest RV show in the south.  When the day was done, we realized we had only taken 1 picture even though we walked through everything from the one shown below to a $900,000 motorhome.

Golf Cars

That's not a type-o.  Florida has entire communities where a golf car is the only transportation needed.  They take their golf cars seriously.

Wauchula, FL to Clermont, FL (85 mi)

We were originally planning to go back to Orlando RV Resort in Clermont  (where we stayed last year) but they were full so we were over-flowed to Clerbrook Golf & RV Resort on the north side of Clermont.  Basically a nice place but it really is a golf community of permanent and long-term seasonal residents.  There are RV spots along the edge for visiting friends.
